P.S. 132 Community

With "Park Moms", a local community group, our Fifth Graders helped beautify McCarren Park. The students created tiles out of clay and spent a Saturday painting and installing the tiles surrounding the wet-play area.
Without the support of our local community P.S. 132 would not be the "family" that it is. It is important that our students are aware of this and learn to give back in return. The Kindergarten gave back by hanging hand made bird feeders in neighborhood trees. Fourth Grade cooked and bagged meals for the homeless. Then they delivered them to a community kitchen to be given to those less fortunate.

Visits in the neighborhood introduce tremendous places close at hand. The public library and williamsburg art galleries are spots we visited. At the library the first grade planted a garden.
